Friendly atmosphere and great burgers

Good people, family atmosphere, not really handicap accessible but people are more than willing to help out and the owner is always considerate of his customers. Food is good, price is reasonable, does not accept credit or debit though so make sure to bring cash with you.

The staff are amazing and the food is equally great. Good atmosphere and an awesome town.

We took the road less traveled for lunch and ended up in Fredonia KS. My wife asked what do you want to do for lunch and I said, "I want to sit down at a lunch counter somewhere downtown and chat with the guy cooking my burger"As soon as we walked in I knew we were in the right place. Rory, the owner, knows everyone who walks in and anticipates their orders. We had an excellent hot ham and cheese sandwich and lemonade for 10 bucks. I made the introductions so I wouldn't be the only one not on a first name basis. Rory, it turns out used to live on Oahu and body surfs, that explains the picture of The Wedge hanging on the wall. Nice guy, good food. If you find yourself close to Fredonia don't miss The Downtown Grill.

Well worth the mile detour off 400 with good food and friendly service. Unexpected and creative specials and traditional grill food prepared from fresh ingredients with care. I am always looking for a light lunch and the grilled chicken salad was very good!

Excellent service. The menu offers general American dishes but the owner/chef offered to make a special plate when they learned of my dad's vegetarian preference - without us asking about other options! The food was fast and tasted great, the portions were also generous. This was a lucky find located just off US HWY 400 in Fredonia, KS.

Best homemade hamburgers and real fries! made with real potatoes, and everything else in this Diner is just absolutely wonderful!! Going for breakfast here in a few weeks can't wait! Friendliest chef and staff I've ever met in my entire life! You absolutely feel like family in this place!

Walked in and was greeted in the most amazing and professional way. What I’m going to say the owner was cooking and told us their specials and even let us sample a piece of the meat that went on one of the specials. Over all I give this place a 10 out of 10

Driving to Wichita from Branson and happened to find this friendly little downtown restaurant. The food was delish. Great hamburger with the freshest most beautiful tomatoes on it and a delish basket of French fries. Felt like we knew the cook all our lives - but first time we met. Lovely Asian pear cobbler for dessert. Would definitely come back to this Gem.
